Farm Intro

Location: The Crabby Chicken Ranch is located on five beautiful acres in scenic Rochester, Washington. South of Olympia, the farm has regional views of Mount Rainier and Mount St Helens, is mere minutes away from I-5 and is within an hour of many local AMHA and AMHR sanctioned shows.

Breeding: A small scale breeding operation, one to four foals are expected every other year. The ranch hopes for four foals in 2008; all due after June and sired by aAprina in Pharaohs Freeanda (see ‘Stallions’ page). Bloodlines in the breeding program include, but are not limited to: Boones Little Buckeroo, Celebrations Tennessee Talent, Grosshill Dandys Special Edition, Little Kings Locomotion, Mickey Mouse, Orion Light Van Huttenest, Rowdy, Shadow Oaks Top Banana, Shadow Oaks Paul Bunyan, and Sierra Dawn Unos Pharaoh.

Showing: Competing in locally sanctioned breed shows, the horses at the Crabby Chicken Ranch have shown exceptionally well since 1997 and exhibit a tremendous wealth of talent. With top placing in everything from halter to performance in open, youth, and amateur classes, the majority of exhibiting is performed by Kim and Hilary Schult. Matthew Schult also participates in performance class in the youth division with aAprina in Pharaohs Freeanda. The home and breeding place of champions, the ranch’s future ambition will be to send horses to regional nationals within the next few years.
